Frequently asked questions
How should a stringer vest fit?
A stringer should sit close through the chest and shoulders, with a deep arm cut for full shoulder mobility under load. The torso runs lean to taper. Lifters who want a wider chest line size up. Each product page lists exact size guidance and the size shown on our model.
What's the difference between a stringer and a tank?
A stringer has a much wider, deeper arm hole than a standard tank. It's built for lifting, where you need the deltoid and lat to move freely under load. A tank has a more standard armhole and works for everyday gym wear, lifestyle, and lower-output training. Both can be worn for warm-ups, but stringers are the lifter's staple.
Are stringer vests good for hyrox or running?
Yes for warm-ups and recovery, less so for the main work. Stringers are cut for ventilation and movement under heavy load, not for repeated impact. For hyrox or run-led sessions, a closer-fitting performance tee or tank moves with you better. Pair a stringer with a tee for the warm-up + work-set transition.
Can I wear a stringer vest outside the gym?
Yes. Our stringers are cut clean enough to read as lifestyle wear, especially the Train Like A Machine and Machine Tech graphic lines. Layer under an oversized tee or pull on with shorts and a cap.
